Using the YRG with Studio One will allow you to trigger internal instruments with your guitar, record and create music using all of the internal synthesizers and sounds available on the program.
Connect your YRG to your computer and power on. Open PreSonus and select “Configure External Devices” on the Start Page.
This will bring up an Options menu. Click the “Add…” button to bring up the Add Device menu.
In the Add Device menu select “New Keyboard” (even though we are connecting a guitar) from the list on the left. You may change the Device Name to something you will easily remember, here “YRG” is chosen. Finally, for the “Receive From” setting, select “iii You Rock Guitar Vx.xx” from the drop-down box. Click OK to save changes and close the Add Device window.
The Options window should now show a “Keyboard” device listed with “iiiYouRockGuitarVx.xx” under the “Receive From” category. Click OK and configuration is complete.
Finally, inside a project, create an instrument track and ensure that the Instrument Input section is set to either “All Inputs” or alternatively, the specific device name you chose in the Add Device menu. Setting to “All Inputs” will allow any connected devices to trigger notes for that instrument, while choosing the specific input device will ensure that only that device plays the instrument.
Your YRG is now successfully connected to PreSonus. Good luck and enjoy creating!
