Connecting your YRG to Logic allows you to trigger internal instruments with your guitar. It also allows you to record and create with all the internal sounds and add-ons that are availabel for this powerful program. Logic requires no special configuration for simple triggering of instruments. Start logic and select empty project.
After opening an empty project, the program will prompt you to insert a first track. Select software instrument and click create.
After the instrument is created, toggle the Record button. If you have multiple instruments in your project, toggle the record button for the instrument (or instruments) which you wish to trigger.
Your YRG is now set up to trigger instruments inside Logic. Good luck and enjoy creating!
Technical Notes: Custom MIDI Mapping in Logic?
To map controllers on the YRG to parameters in Logic, simply press (Command + K) with a project open. This will bring up the MIDI mapping window.
Click “Learn Mode” and then click on a parameter in Logic that you want to control. Finally, move a controller on the YRG that you want to use to control that parameter. Close this window and move the controller you chose on the YRG. The parameter within logic should change to reflect the value of the controller.
